Who runs this site
shuhq.com is the personal site of Mark "Shu" Schubert, West Midlands, United Kingdom. For anything on this page, including a request to see or delete your data, use the Say Hello form or reply to any email you have had from the site. Shu is the data controller for it.
Cookies and tracking: there are none
This site sets no cookies. It stores nothing in your browser. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no Hotjar, no advertising or remarketing tag, and no cross-site tracking of any kind. That is why you will never see a cookie banner here. Nothing to consent to.
What is collected, and when
The contact form
If you use the Say Hello form, you send a name, an email address and a message. That is handled by Netlify Forms, the hosting platform this site runs on, which stores the submission and passes it to Shu. It is used for one thing: replying to you. It is never sold, never added to a mailing list, and never shared with anyone else. A hidden honeypot field is used to catch spam bots; it holds no information about you.
Server logs
Like any website, requests reach a server. Netlify, the host, records standard technical data such as IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time. That happens for delivery, security and abuse prevention, and it is Netlify's normal logging rather than anything set up for this site. Netlify's own privacy notice covers what they do with it: netlify.com/privacy.
Fonts
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser fetches them from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request. If that matters to you, a content blocker will stop it and the site will fall back to system fonts and still work.
Things this site links to
There are links out to places like GitHub, LinkedIn, X, YouTube and the businesses in the Work and Brands sections. Once you follow one, you are on someone else's site under their privacy policy, not this one.
How long anything is kept
Contact form submissions are kept while they are useful, which in practice means while a conversation is live or a piece of work is running, and are deleted on request at any time. Server logs are held on Netlify's own retention schedule, which is not set by this site.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask what data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to it being held at all. Ask through the contact form and it will be dealt with; there is no formal process to navigate, because there is very little data to navigate.
If you are not happy with how a request is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
This is a portfolio site aimed at people looking to work with Shu. It is not directed at children and it does not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. The version you are reading is the one that applies.
